Fleet Logistics has announced a strategic partnership with mobility solutions provider, MOBIKO, initially in Germany but with plans for a pan-European roll out in the coming months.

Munich-based MOBIKO is a European-renowned provider of mobility solutions and is now Fleet Logistics’ preferred strategic partner in the fast-growing mobility sector of the corporate market.

Electric vehicles and plug-in hybrids have together outsold diesels across Europe for the first time in history.

In August, according to the latest statistics from analyst JATO Dynamics, EVs and PHEVs claimed a combined market share of 21% of the European new car market. The 151,737 units registered in August represented a 61% year-on-year increase and were 10,100 units higher than the number of diesels sold in the same month.

I have a very big interest in electric vehicles.  This stems from a personal love for new technologies and the latest gadgets, as well as a growing concern for the environment and my affect upon it.  I have spent weeks researching the topic of electrification, not only in terms of technologies and readiness for the individual driver, but for business’s and company car fleets.  I have attended workshops and seminars in recent weeks and learnt a great deal about what electric vehicles are, how they work and how ready some European markets are to implement dynamic strategies to encourage EV uptake. 

Insurance premium rises during the first year of the pandemic, at a time when falling mileages might reasonably have been expected to lead to a fall in premiums, surprised many fleet owners, some of whom looked to change insurers as a result.

Fleet Logistics will have a strong presence at the Fleet Europe Summit in Brussels on November 9/10 as the eagerly awaited event turns from virtual to physical after the easing of Covid pandemic restrictions.

On the first day, the Summit will witness sessions of the Smart Mobility Institute and the Global Fleet Managers Club, along with a variety of presentations at the Remarketing Forum.
