Fleet Europe Awards winners announced

Over 1,000 international fleet and mobility professionals from across the globe attended the Fleet Europe Awards and Summit last month in Barcelona when they saw Almy Sousa Magalhaes of Philip Morris International win the Global Fleet Manager of the Year Award and Franz Fehlner from Allianz Technology take the runners-up spot and receive his award from Dr Jörg Löffler, CEO, Fleet Logistics (pictured).

Fleet Logistics UK opts for experience

Fleet Logistics UK (FLUK) has appointed Madelaine Webster as its new Business Development Manager. Webster has more than 13 years’ experience in the fleet market, having previously carried out various fleet management roles. Reporting to FLUK and Ireland Country Head, Sue Branston, her experience will be used to help develop and drive the growth of the business in the UK and Ireland.

Fleet managers need to take pro-active approach to WLTP, warns FleetVision

Fleet managers need to take a pro-active approach to vehicle selection following the introduction of the new Worldwide harmonized Light Vehicles Test Procedure (WLTP) or face escalating fleet costs. That’s the warning from FleetVision, the fleet and mobility consultancy arm within TÜV SÜD Group, which says that fleets could face additional costs of several hundreds of Euros per vehicle per year if they do not make the right vehicle selections now within their fleet choice lists.

Modern diesels should play key role, says ACEA

Modern diesel cars, supported by fleet renewal policies and combined with alternative powertrains, should have a key role to play in helping European cities move towards compliance with air quality targets and should not be demonised. So says European carmakers' trade body, ACEA.
